Erythromelalgia
Park Ki-Jong

Abstract
Erythromelalgia is a rare clinical syndrome that is characterized by increased skin temperature, redness of skin, and burning pain usually of the extremtities. The mutations in SCN9A, the gene for the human voltage gated sodium channel Nav1.7, were expected to cause hyperexcitability of the sensory and sympathetic neurons in primary erythromelalgia. Secondary erythromelalgia could be the sequelae of the various disorders. No effective treatment is in patients with erythromelalgia.
